  • IMGlobalFilm.com Extended Symfony infrastructure traditionally only used by Symfony's command line tool to dynamically create new Objects, Properties, Relations, and forms (with validation, image upload and resizing, and video re-encoding option) which can be used to dynamically create a custom CMS. This reduced the time to develop the backend of similarly scoped projects from 3 weeks to 3-5 days.
  • TogetherCounts.com Designed a system infrastructure based on Symfony and Amazon's Web Services platform to scale to 20 million users. Utilized Amazon's EC2 machine instances, S3 storage, Cloudfront Content Delivery Network (CDN), Auto-scaling, Load balancers, A-Z RDS Databases, and SES email platform, as well as server side technologies including Doctrine Caching, Memcache, and APC. Responsibilities also included 100% of backend development, designing an API supporting both XML and JSON which was used by Flash, and the Android and Apple iOS applications. This site also implemented logging in with Facebook Conntect, Twitter Oauth authorization, and Reverse-Geolocation using both Google and Yahoo API's.
  • Google ChromeTranslation Extension Provided proof of concept work for a Google Chrome extension that would provide a Rosetta Stone like abilities in 59 languages while browsing the web with a configurable fluency level. Required reverse engineering of an undocumented Google Translation API to allow the translation of desired words in context.
  • BuyLife.org HTML5 site to promote the KeepAChildAlive.org program. Featured in Pau Irish's (a Google's Code Evangelists) presentation (5:36) on sites that are following the web's best practices. Winner of the 2011 Cannes Lions Award for Best use of Social Media.
  • Seeing The Future Now An internal tool for Orly to create, develop, and refine upcoming product lines. Included a custom Symfony Admin generate theme and two custom Doctrine Behaviors.
  • AIALosAngeles.org Created a custom CMS using the Symfony Framework where all data could be geocoded and displayed on top of a map using the Google Map API.
  • MYSONGtoyou.com Seeded development for this social networking site that based on a multiple track song recording and song collaboration tool. Interfaced with a Flash media server and implemented Facebook Connect for user authentication.
  • mothership.net Another custom CMS written using the Symfony Framework that allowed the client to upload videos and automatically generate 10 screenshots which they could choose to use as a thumbnail image.
  • Georgetown University Lead Generation Page A lead generation page for Georgetown University's Nursing program. Used HTML5 and a custom javascript form validator that was considerably more lightweight to popular alternatives.
  • BUENOfilms.com Responsible for creating an animated AJAX driven website with a minimalistic lightbox, custom JavaScript scroll box, as well as a custom CMS in PHP using the Symfony framework

  • Created and supported Linux Based platform and lead development on a multi-threaded, C based hard drive diagnostic and repair tool which communicated with a Java server via sockets
  • Worked with Mark Lord, the original author of the libata stack in the Linux kernel, to improve error reporting of misbehaving hard drives.
  • Provided insight into common hard drive failure pattens to Valerie Aurora (Henson) to take into consideration for her work on the ext4 filesystem.
  • Met with Ted Ts'o, the author of ext3tools, to discuss possible improvements to the filesystem check process.
  • Trained Service Engineers world wide how to identify true hard drive failures.

  • Bug 254995 net-p2p/deluge - /etc/init.d/deluged finds the incorrect home directory when similar usernames exist
    I found a minor bug in the BASH startup script for the 1.1.0 release of this program that comes packaged with Gentoo’s install. The bug that I fixed had to do with the script finding the wrong home directory of a user when trying to run the script as a user who’s name also appeared inside another user’s name. I fixed it and submitted a patch to Gentoo. See the bugs for more details. This patch was accepted and included in the deluge-1.1.0-r1.ebuild
