Back on Track

Ok, So I haven’t posted here in a while but I’m back on track now. I’ve been training a bit more, but still not as much as I’d like. I have made some modifcations to my bike. Most notably, I’ve changed out my crankset for a mountain bike RaceFace crank so that I could get a lower gearing. I got a good deal on it over at Cycle Loft.

I’ve also finished purchasing all of the maps for the trip. I got them from the Adventure Cycling Association. I already had the first 3 in the set so I only needed to pick up the last 4. Pretty reasonably priced at $11 for non-members. The three I already have are great. They map out the trip on bike safe roads and mark places that are important to bicyclists (such as super markets, post offices, bike shops, camping grounds, and even ice cream shops). And as if that wasn’t enough, on the back side they also list the contact information of all the bike shops and camp grounds, as well as give some information about the area both from a historical and weather perspective.

Here are snapshots of the path that each of these maps take you on. If you live along the way and have a piece of lawn that I can sleep on and possibly a garden hose that I can use to shower with leave a comment or send me a message on aim at xPosiMattx.
